1. Scaffolding and sinus’s

    A busy day today!

A diver rescue this morning. I had to play the role of an unconscious diver that had to be pulled from the water, assessed for symptoms and stretchered off the boat to a pre-planned medical evacuation point. All went well with the exercise, there were a few little things that didn’t go to plan, these were pointed out after the exercise, such as dropping the patient from the stretcher, thankfully, it was a practice. Overall a good demonstration, proving that the guys on the course are learning and taking on board the information we are taught and also that everyone is taking things seriously, which one day will save lives.

Our exercise was same as yesterday, building scaffolding in low visibilty water and disassembling it. Everything was going well until the second dive and my para-nasal sinus’s where giving me discomfort. As soon as my head was underwater, even in the KirbyMorgan helmet, pain was streaking right across my forehead. This meant I had to cancel my dive. I just hope I will be better for tomorrow. I am down by 30 minutes on my training now.
